Decanter centrifuge - This type of centrifuge features a slender cylinder with a conveyor belt in the middle. The cylinder rotates at different speeds, thereby pushing denser material to the outer wall. The conveyor then distributes these solids to the other end of the centrifuge, from where they are discharged.

Tube Centrifuge - A tube centrifuge consists of an extended vertical bowl that is primarily used to separate two liquids. As the bowl rotates, the less dense liquid is contained in the middle, while the more dense liquid is guided to the outer wall. Naturally, each liquid has its own discharge point in order to maintain separation. Any small solids contained therein must be removed by a manual process.
Basket centrifuge - With a basket centrifuge, the liquid is inserted into an internal basket. The basket then spins at high speed, forcing denser materials into the inner wall, where they are captured by the cloth filter. On the other hand, materials with a lighter specific gravity wear the filter cloth and leave the filter cup through a series of perforations in the basket walls. For example, in the case of solids and liquids, the liquid will pass through the filter and perforations, while the solid material will remain inside the basket. The speed of the basket centrifuge is limited to a specific number of revolutions per minute or RPM.
Peeler Centrifuges - Peeler centrifuges are equipped with a screen specifically designed to handle the batch process. After the batch of slurry is injected into the centrifuge, the material is then passed through the screen to prevent more dense solids from leaching out. This material cake is then stripped and discharged from the machine by means of an arm.
Disc centrifuges - Disc centrifuges operate in much the same way as basket centrifuges, with one significant difference. The inner bowl is equipped with a disc plate that is separated in the center by an inlet. The design of the disc allows denser debris to settle on the disc and be placed at an angle so that the sludge slides into the external discharge nozzle. The result is a smoother, faster separation process, larger capacity and higher RPM than conventional basket centrifuges.
Push centrifuges - As with basket centrifuges, rotating the bowl of a push centrifuge causes the liquid inside to flow out of the side walls. However, once the basket is free of liquid, the push centrifuge has a dedicated arm to scrape the interior and push solid material from the back of the basket, which essentially allows the basket to immediately process the next batch.
